Comprehensive Fire and Affected Areas Management System
SIGIZA‘s main target is the design of an innovative system that allows the management of fires and affected areas in all its phases, from prevention, through the mapping of a model of risks and preventive tasks, through the coordination of emergency teams in the tasks of extinction, to the evaluation of costs and reforestation of the affected areas.
Main activities
The objective of the project will be addressed by the CIC research team by carrying out the following activities:
- Design and development of a dynamic risk model that is updated based on meteorological factors and that considers the variables associated with combustion, propagation and fires in each application scenario.
- Design and development of an information processing system for the management and coordination of extinguishing equipment, with a map of indicators that allows assessing the results achieved and the effectiveness and optimization of the resources used in its implementation.
- Construction of an experimental prototype in a geographical area to be defined, which allows evaluating the results based on quantitative indicators such as the reduction of the area razed with the use of the system.
The characterization and design of an operating model will allow us to create a competitive product with an integrated set of functionalities for fire management and prevention, which can be adopted by different public administrations, taking advantage of its high degree of scalability and adaptation to the geographical and meteorological conditions of the geographical area where its implementation is carried out.
