Intelligent system for the DIgitalization of electrical and communications networks based on EDGE computing architectures
INDITEDGE aims to design and develop an intelligent system that allows the complete digitalization of any active element of the communications networks that support energy infrastructures. The final solution will allow the dynamic and hierarchical modeling of assets in real time, the advanced analytics capacity based on storage of historical data and the automation of self-diagnosis and correlation processes, also guaranteeing the requirements of information security, scalability and high availability.
Main activities
The objective of the project will be addressed by the CIC research team by carrying out the following activities:
- Design and development of a scalable architecture based on microservices and Kappa models to support advanced Big Data analytics processes.
- Processes of extraction, loading and local processing of data (Edge Computing) to allow an automated configuration of the equipment and a reduction of the load in communications.
- Processing models with limited computational resources (Fog Computing), establishing an intermediate situation between the extremely limited resources of the Edge nodes and the high and elastic capacity of a centralized cluster.
- Development of a testing ground for the use of query segregation patterns with respect to commands (CQRS) so that performance can be maximized in distributed architectures.
- Orchestration of the different services, integration and validation in a final demonstrator.
Funding
This project has received funding from SODERCAN (Cantabria Government), R&D on ICT projects, call 2022.
