The CIC Group has once again been recognized as one of the best companies to work for in Spain according to ChooseMyCompany, receiving the Platinum 2026 distinction in the category of companies with more than 200 employees. This recognition further validates the organization’s people management model and reinforces a track record built on active listening, commitment, continuous improvement, and professional development.

The annual awards ceremony, held in Barcelona, brought together leading organizations in employee experience and talent management. During the event, Juan Prego, HR and Organization Director at CIC Group, had the opportunity to share insights into the company’s approach to people management and the factors that help maintain high levels of employee engagement, satisfaction, and commitment to the organization.

During his speech, he emphasized that positive results in areas such as employee engagement, turnover, and absenteeism are not the result of chance or isolated initiatives, but rather stem from a consistent philosophy of people management. As he explained, investing in employee satisfaction and engagement requires resources, time, and effort. It means investing in training, professional development, leadership growth, work-life balance measures, active listening, and financial resources. Some organizations may initially view this commitment as costly. However, he conveyed a clear message: the real cost lies not in investing in people, but in failing to do so.

Maintaining excellent levels of satisfaction, retention, and attendance requires investment, but the cost of allowing these indicators to deteriorate is significantly higher. The direct and indirect costs associated with talent loss, declining engagement, increased pressure on teams, loss of knowledge, and reduced productivity far exceed the investment needed to build outstanding workplaces.

He also highlighted the importance of measurement. In increasingly complex and multifaceted environments, implementing initiatives alone is not enough; organizations must understand which actions truly generate impact and add value to the employee experience. In this context, he pointed out the value of tools such as ChooseMyCompany, which enable organizations to analyze performance from multiple perspectives and support data-driven decision-making.

Another key theme of his presentation was the importance of anticipation. Continuous monitoring of indicators makes it possible to detect early warning signs and take action before critical situations arise. As he explained, certain organizational issues can become self-reinforcing when not addressed in time. In Juan Prego’s words, “turnover can end up generating more turnover,” which is why it is essential to identify and correct trends before they reach a point of no return.

The presentation also addressed one of the most complex challenges in today’s people management landscape: managing multiple generations within the same organization. As Juan Prego noted, many companies now bring together three generations in the workplace, and within each generation, motivations, expectations, and priorities are evolving faster than ever. This reality makes one-size-fits-all approaches increasingly ineffective. He argued that the key is to “analyze, analyze, and analyze again,” segmenting information and adapting people policies to respond accurately to the real needs of each group. Ultimately, what works for one group does not necessarily work for another..

Finally, he emphasized the strategic role of flexibility and work-life balance initiatives. Although their impact can be more difficult to quantify than traditional indicators, their contribution to employee experience, engagement, and organizational sustainability is unquestionable. As an example, he explained how flexible working measures can reduce the need for employees to request reduced working hours and help them better balance their professional and personal lives, creating benefits for both employees and the organization.

For CIC Group, this recognition represents much more than a prominent position in the ChooseMyCompany rankings. It is an external validation of a management approach built on the belief that investing in people, measuring performance rigorously, anticipating challenges, developing leaders, and adapting to increasingly diverse realities are among the most important competitive advantages of sustainable organizations.
